Academic Dean, Capital Preparatory Harbor School

“As an Academic Dean serving in the throes of our current pandemic, I have found it to be a bittersweet situation. The bitter experiences have been uncertainties of academic attainment and the instability of instructional delivery from what we know to be best practices via a traditional classroom. What we once deemed controllables feel like uncontrollables—and the challenge has been to settle the turbulence while procuring academic ataraxia for scholars of all ages/grade levels. Perturbations and vicissitudes notwithstanding, the sweet has been the spirit of educators all across the country striving to implement hybrid learning on a bimodal platform (i.e. virtual and live instruction). Innovation has been and is a formidable driving force. I am honored to be a part of this innovative movement—playing a role in the paradigm of teaching and learning as it evolves/metamorphoses into something new.”
